Lanzarotes number one tourist attraction is Timanfaya National Park, which is a Spanish National Park located just 20 minutes from Puerto del Carmen. Home to the famous Fire Mountains, and the active volcano, Timanfaya, the parkland is made up entirely of volcanic soil. Volcanic activity will be demonstrated during your visit by pouring water into the ground, which is a spectacular and unique experience for any visitor. While you can take a coach trip around the area or follow a guided walk service along two routes, you may also choose to take a camel ride to explore the lava landscapes. There is also a restaurant on site, where you can sample delicious Canarian food that is prepared using the geothermal heat from the volcano.
